I have really thin hair and I was looking for info on how to get good curls and found this video.

http://www.ehow.com/how_2831_curl-hair-with.html

I'm going to try it on a day when I have time to get ready and I hope it works! I just thought it was cool that someone made a video on it and I hope it helps!

gosh, i saw the video.... actually it isnt very well demonstrated.
1. the way the girl touched the barrel of the curling iron is dangerous! it is hot and your fingers shouldnt be touching it like the way she did after she wrapped her hair around the barrel.
2. the video did not highlight the fact that THE WAY you RELEASE the tongs is important. She did it correctly, so that you dont UNDO the curls when you are releasing the iron.

I sometimes curl my hair using a curling iron, esp when I used to have longer hair, because it really adds volume and glam to my limp hair.

TIP: WHat I have learned is that, it is quite tricky (esp for new users) to put your hair in between the tong and slide it to the ends of your hair section, and then roll it back up.... so what I do is, I just take my hair section, and wrap it around the barrel directly and hold the remaining tip with my finger while waiting for the hair to be curled. This way you dont need to worry about releasing the tong slowly and sliding your hair up and down the roller.

You can also curl the different sections of hair in different directions to create more texture.

I share with you these videos on www.videojug.com on using curling irons and heated curlers.

Lastly, I recommend you practice practice practice! It is fun to try out new hairdos DIY.
